As senior vice president of Power Supply and Operational Services
at Southern California Edison (SCE), Hemphill is responsible for
overseeing the development and operation of the company’s hydroelectric, solar, and natural gas generating plants; the procurement of conventional and renewable power contracts; and the planning, management, and dispatch of SCE’s overall resource portfolio. He is also responsible for supply chain, supplier diversity, corporate real estate, logistics, warehousing, and transportation services.
Previously, Hemphill was acting chief financial officer of SCE in addition to these duties. He also held positions of senior vice president of Power Supply, senior vice president of Power Procurement, and vice president of Renewable and Alternative Power. He held management positions at Edison International and SCE in the strategic planning, resource planning, and business development organizations.
Hemphill serves on the Boards of the California Power Exchange, The Huntington Library, AbilityFirst, and the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House.
Hemphill earned an MBA at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at California State University, Fullerton.
